One of the great things about living in Oregon is that there’s never a shortage of beautiful Oregon Places To Visit on any day of the week, or weekend, if you want to get away and explore. One of our most favorite destinations in Oregon is the Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor.

Located near Brookings, the Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor is an epic place to visit because there’s so much nature and beauty to take in here that you’re going to have to spend the weekend, or come back multiple times to take it all in.

About The Samuel H. Boardman Scenic Corridor

Easily accessed from US 101 and named after the first Oregon Parks superintendent, the Oregon Coast Trail and various pull-off parking spots connect the beaches, rock formations, and natural beauty that defines this part of the coast. Popular pitstops along this scenic corridor include Arch Rock; Indian Sands; and one of the best beaches on the Oregon coast, Lone Ranch Beach.

Best Time Of Year To Visit

The best time of year to visit this perfect example of why Oregon is Beautiful is June through August because the temperature here is warmer than the Seaside area and can get as warm as 85 but the heat doesn’t last for long and before you know it, you will be enjoying cooler temperatures as the fog rolls in.

Tips For visiting

When you come to the this Oregon destination, make sure you come prepared with a comfortable pair of shoes, blanket, light jacket and bottle of sun screen because anything can happen here even during the summer months because it’s not uncommon to have the occasional 50 degree day during the summer.

If you plan on staying the night on the coast there’s tons of great paces to stay in the area including awesome places to eat like Spinners in Gold Beach or Nicks Hamburger Shop in Brookings.
