One of the great things about living in Oregon is that we have the beach at our fingertips. Seaside Oregon is just an hour and thirty-nine minutes from Portland and it can be reached within hours from any destination in Central or Eastern Oregon.

What makes Seaside a great place to visit, especially during the summer months, is that it never gets warmer than 70 degrees here and it sometimes snows during the winter so you can enjoy the unique experience of seeing snow on the beach.

The Perfect Beach Town

Seaside is the perfect beach town. Here you have a promenade that you can enjoy all year long, an excellent mall with a carousel, dozens of great stores, shops, excellent restaurants and so much more.

Of course, there’s also the beach too! Seaside’s beach is a great place for building sandcastles, exploring for shells and rocks, taking long walks or digging for razor clams when they are in season.

Lewis & Clark Connection

Did you know that the history of Seaside OR stretches back to Lewis & Clark? That’s right! They stopped here in the early 1800’s to establish a salt making claim and the area was later incorporated as Seaside in the late 1800’s.
