Seaside Oregon

Seaside Oregon

In part #1 of your Oregon road trip we provided you with a list of things to see and do in the PDX area.

On day #2 of your road trip, you should grab breakfast in Portland at Paiku because they serve a yummy, hearty breakfast then get a coffee at one of the awesome coffee shops before starting day #2 of your journey to Seaside.

This journey isn’t far, it’s only going to take you about 2 hours (depending on weather) to get from Portland to Seaside but once you’re there you will have plenty of time to explore the area.

Where to Stay and Play

The Shilo Inn in Seaside is by far one of the most affordable in Seaside and they also offer a restaurant, bar plus indoor gym for you to get your workout in even while you’re on vacation.

Once you check in to your hotel here’s what you should do while you’re in Seaside.

  • Hit the beach – August is a great time of year to visit the Oregon Coast because it’s warmer than other times of the year but you still may encounter some cool weather so be sure to bring a light jacket or wetsuit if you plan on surfing.
  • Visit the boardwalk – If you plan on just relaxing while you’re in Seaside we suggest just visiting the boardwalk. This mile-long stretch of Seaside if absolutely beautiful and will take you past gorgeous homes, shops, attractions and miles of beautiful beach.
  • Check of the aquarium – The Seaside aquarium is a great place to visit to get an up-close view of the animals that live in the local area. It’s also an excellent place to bring your kids because you can turn a day out into a learning excursion.
  • Don’t miss the carousel mall – Seaside’s carousel mall is another fun place to visit during your trip to the town because there’s tons of great little shops to check out plus the iconic carousel which is an attraction for people of all ages.
